Center console on a 1968 Delta Custom coupe

Question…was the center console for a 1968 Delta Custom 88 equipped with bucket seats the same console used in the Cutlass, or were they unique for the Delta 88?

I pulled one from a parts car years ago. I believe the console is the same, but the shifter cable may be longer.

I didn't even know that was an option. Could you share pictures?

Can show my car with buckets, but for some reason it came with a column shifter, so no console. Working on the interior now and the seats are out of the car, but will get photos once seats are back in.

Just wondered how hard it would be to add a console to the car while I am doing other work to it.

Here's a couple pictures of a 1969. I think installing a console wouldn't be difficult. The greater challenge might be finding a full sized car steering column for a floor shift car. I had a buddy years ago remove the shifter arm on a column, cut the pot metal ears that it attached to, and cover the hole with bondo. I don't know how long it lasted but at the time he did a good job and it was hard to see it as not being stock.

Thanks for the pictures, those are really nice looking bucket seats, I wander if they're the same size as a Toronado GT.

The bucket seat frames are the same on the A-body, B-body, and E-body cars. Only the seat tracks and upholstery are different.
