I have a 62 Olds .with a 394 and I need a Rodchester GC carb. I need to replace it with another rodchester GC . what will work off a chev or buick ? Will get one off E Bay . Just run it a round town.

When you find a replacement carburetor make sure it has the same linkage as your OE one. The 4GC carburetor had a manual throttle valve linkage on it that controlled the Slim Jim Rotohydramatic transmission. This is a CRITICAL adjustment that MUST be done right if you want your transmission to shift properly.

 

BTW as i understand it if your transmission doesn't shift properly it will burn up and need to be rebuilt. The damage is done in very few miles.
