After 300 'rainy' miles, she is now at her new home in Eastern Washington. My daughter names her 'Big Bird' (after the Sesame Street character) because she's big and yellow!

Specs- 67 Delta 88 convertible, 425 ci w/ Edelbrock manifold and carb, auto on column (I assume they all were).

Interested in any info or advice to better this car. She's in very nice shape but I plan to take her to a rod shop to get the bumpers/fenders/trunk lid etc. aligned correctly. (I'm lazy and just want to drive it).

I saw an earlier reference to the left side (drivers) manifold being unique. This one drops the pipe in the middle, crosses underneath the engine alongside the right pipe, then goes aft to exit back on the left (see pic). Is it possible this motor is from a Toronado? The trans shift rod is one of the 'half-moon' style.

Nice car! We once owned a '75 Delta 88 fourdoor, my kids were young then and they called it the bannana boat because it was yellow. The kids never forgot that and I am betting your daughter will never forget yours!

 

I hope she has the same memories being 'saved' as I have. I grew up around cars, actually thousands of them. My dad and his best friend, built the largest private collection of classic autos in the world (Lemay Collection www.lemaymuseum.org).

I picked this one up to have a 'daily' driver that can still 'show well'. She is 8 and just loves the wind in her hair.

The drivers side manifold is unique to factory dual exhaust cars and not the toronado....Im talking B bodies. This engine is known as the Starfire 425. The manifold does not dump from the center but at the rear as the passenger side. It appears someone has customized your exhaust using the single exhaust manifolds. The correct manifold is being reproduced and often turns up on Ebay....it makes dual exhaust much easier. Yes the trans shift bar is half mooned to clear the exhaust pipe. 442.com shows this in detal on their tech pages.....Nice car by the way!

 

Nice car! In 1968 they made a "Delta Custom" with bucket seats, floor shift and a console. I don't know if that model was available in 1967 or not. What color is the interior? John
