Cool anyone ever change olds motor to a newer chevy

curious if anyone has either done or converted there olds typically speaking 1956 year to a chevy drive train???? im a tool and die maker so machine will be no problem was just wanting opinions. also i may have a "61" 394 cid witha bad crank after only 300 miles on rebuild my father spent near $4,500 on this motor and it sank after 300 miles and person whom rebuilt it is gone out of bussiness "what luck!" huh this motor has all new pistons, cam, valves and such i want to use something a little more easier on parts to locate...since i have a "91" LT1 in my garage sitting this has crosssed my mind to convert

I saw a 94 chev pick up with a mid 70's 350 rocket in it. I couldn't tell you want they did to get it in there it was at an auction so no owner/builder was around. The way I look at it you can put any motor in any car just how much time and money do you want to put into it.
