Some of the convertible top supply places have reproduction boots but they're not as well-made as an original, and I think available only in black or white. They're common to all 1971-76 full-size GM convertibles if you want to search for a used one.

Even though only Buick and Cadillac had it on the option list, a two-piece fiberglass parade boot is available for these cars. Paint to match your car color and it's a really nice addition.

Let me look- I had a repro white one that came with my 73 88 ragtop, not sure if I still have it. If I can find it we'll work a deal on it. I'd rather see someone get some benefit than trash it. But keep in mind it is not as heavyweight vinyl as an original.

actually mine is in good shape other than missing some of the metal snaps. A few of the plastic thing son it that slide under the trim to hold it in place are not well. I also need the bar riveted to the car that the Velcro part of cover sticks too, that no longer holds cover in place. Is that thing avail?

You can get Velcro strips at about any hobby or industrial supply. I replaced them on my 73. Riveted one side to the body behind seat and the side on the original top boot was actually in good shape.

That's what I did on the Mrs.' Vert. Sure it's not stock. But it looks decent and works better. Besides, the rest of the car ain't all stock either.

I'd have no issue putting snaps on the boot, a couple to the orig ones are gone anyway.

you put them in all the way around. Putting some BEHIND the metal trim that the boot plastic tabs slipped under at the back. I would think the boot would not be big enough for that to work.

The male half of the snaps are attached to the chrome trim around the rear of the Vert top. It's a tight fit but still easy to put on.

No rivets. They are very small self tapping screws.
