Hi DeltaStew, I like what you're doing with the Delmont convertible. I bought my first Delta Custom from a guy building a Delmont convertible. The Delta was in rough shape but I wanted the motor so the car was given away. My second Delta Custom was also supposed to be for parts. I pulled out the buckets and found that the 455 had been rebuilt. That motor is in my garage as well and I still have the car. The third Delta Custom I bought is also sitting on my lot. It's full load with a power bucket seat and console and same white interior as #2. The console is the same as the one I pulled out of a 69 Cutlass. The bucket seats are the same as the Cutlass - just a different pattern and maybe seat tracks - I never thought of that.
Reading this post again fires up my want to go work on the cars but they are covered in snow. The temperature warmed up today to 19F - it's still cold.
Just curious as to what size of tire you put on those 14" rims. I like the wire hubcaps.
My dream for my car is to use a set of wheels like in the picture attached. I have the wheels and the caps, I'm just missing 2 of the chrome rings. The other options are to put on the SSIV's that I picked up a couple of years ago or the deluxe 15" wheel covers.
My biggest problem is too many projects and not enough cash and time.
Anyway nice work on the convertible.
George

Hello George, nice to hear from you. The tires on my car are Kumho Solus 205/75/14's, the only size I could find with the whitewall I wanted. If you go up to a 215 or a 225, they are blackwall and or a trailer tire in most brands. Uniroyal also makes a Tiger Paw radial in that size I believe, with the whitewall. A wider, taller tire may look better on the car, but you can't find tires in 14" with a small whitewall anymore. Go up to a 15" and you can find them all day long, or go to Coker and get repop 14's for a lot of money. It looks like the car in the pic has dog dish hubcaps and trim rings? If that is true, it most likely has the optional 15" wheels, a rare option. i really like the look of the factory spoke/ small whitewall combo, as that's what I had one my very first '68 4-door in the '80's.

If that's you're 98 in the pic that is a nice car! I'm a big fan of those too, they have the sweetest interiors! If you would be willing to sell any parts off of you're Customs please let me know. I need some trim pieces and would really like to have a console shift setup with the steering column to go with it. Thanks for the kind words and take care! Philip
