64 Disc brake conversion

Looks like I finally got enough time and money to start on my 1964 Dynamic 88 convertible project. Looking at possibly doing a front disc brake conversion. Anybody try the Kanter Disc Brake conversion kit? Does this still use the original spindle assy? Not opposed to just rebuilding the drums all the way around but there is not doubting the disc brakes up front just work better especially considering the weight of this car. Dean

Read the many threads about these kits. No guarantee they will stop any better than re doing your drums. The kit is generic, no real engineering is going into front rear brake balance and other issues. Also, I haven't researched this specific kit, but many require an upgrade from 14" to 15" wheels.

Thanks for the input, been researching this for a bit and been debating whether or not to pull the trigger. Considering some of the issues I may or may not run into it would be much simpler to rebuild the stock brakes and put the money elsewhere in the build. Dean
