63 Starfire Turn Signal

63 Starfire Turn Signal
The turn signal on my 63 Starfire won't lock into position for a right turn indication. The signal flashes ok but I have to hold it into position. The spring returns it to off when I let go. Left turn works fine, locks and returns when wheel is turned.
I have a service manual but it is vague. Do I need a new turn signal switch or something else?
Thanks
Higgins

Those years have a potmetal yoke right up at top of the column. You can see it with the wheel removed. If I had to guess, I'd say something has broken on that yoke.
I believe to get it off, you have to remove the housing on the column (part where hole for t/s lever is on).

Same problem
Claudia and me got the same problem with our 1963 Olds f-85
It took me allmost 3 years to find a NOS turn signal switch for a fair price.
2 weeks ago I got one, 50.-$ + 10$ shipping from US ebay . Original in GM package!
Within the time we got 2 offers, 300.-$ and 270$: mad:+
60.-$ UPS express shipping
The point is, I can`t find an actuator plate. Something is broken there said my mechanic.
I`d like to change the whole system.
Has anybody got an idea where I can find that part?
Thank you and greetings from Black Forest,
Claudia & Martin
BTW : After hard times at work I`m back in the familie
