55 rear wheel bearing No. wanted.

I am pretty sure that my passenger side rear wheel bearing is shot so I want to replace it. Just wondering if anyone has the part number from the bearing so I can cross reference it and get a new one before I pull the axle.

Just trying to stop the delay of turning up to the bearing place to be told it will have to be ordered and will take a week and the cars off the road.

thanks in advance.

Straight outta a '61 parts book I have - The GM part number was 954848. It fits 1954 - 1961 and interchanges with Cadillac and Pontiac. It may fit more years,( I'm sure it does ) but this book only goes up to '61

is that an overall GM parts book? if so I would be interested to see a picture of it, I have this thing about collecting information sources, I read manuals like people read novels.

No - Its a '61 flat rate book.. It will tell the time it takes to replace a part, what the part interchanges with and part numbers. Not only for GM, but Ford, Chrysler, and some oddballs - Studebaker, Desoto, Rambler, etc. Great bathroom reading material
