54 Super 88 - dash light fuse location?

The gauge lights went out on my 54 - the shop manual shows it being a 2A fuse "located in the switch" - what the?

Taking that literally, I'm guessing there is a user replaceable fuse somehow within the headlight switch? I've looked under the dash and don't see anything that resembles a fuse with the switch.

Guessing I need to pull the switch out of the dash to get to this fuse?

Any help?

If you remove the switch from the dash, the fuse is closest to the dash part of the switch, on top I believe.

Good news - found it.... Bad news - replaced it, and it immediately blew again..

So I guess I've got some troubleshooting to do.

Also based on how tough it is to get to, and how it wasn't especially easy to find a replacement, I'm going to pull the switch and wire in an inline fuse holder that takes "normal" 2A fuses... I'm thinking I'll go through several in this troubleshooting process.
