1984 oldsmobile delta 88

So I have been trying to get this car to charge for about a week now. I replaced the alternator still wouldn't charge I replaced the plug for the alternator and it still wouldn't charge. Starts everytime but not making electricity. I then ordered a 1 wire gm alternator so I can just hook that to the battery and not deal with whatever the issue is in the wiring. I've looked at all my fuses and they're all good besides the cigarette lighter fuse. So after I ordered the alternator I went to start it again and it will crank and crank and crank. I pulled a spark plug out had my brother crank it and it's not getting any spark. So I'm wondering if my issue with the alternator not charging might be something to do with why it's not getting spark anymore. By the way I have a hei distributor and an edelbrock carb on it. Was running and going. Help me out please Ive run out of an idea I'm not worried about the alternator working I want to know why I'm not getting spark

I believe you have 2 separate issues. See if you have 12v at the HEI bat terminal with the key on.

Also, when I turn the key on the oil/choke light comes on and when I crank the motor the brake light and temp lights come on but go off as soon as motor stops turning. This info might help someone help me out?

Where is it that I'm looking for power? I don't have a voltmeter

Hard to go wrong for less than 10 Bux.

You will use it on more than just the recalcitrant car...
