Those are cool

Among many things, its interesting to see the master cylinder and lines hooked up before the body is on- pic 2. Also, the front core support and grill going on before the fenders..

They really had to put these together pretty fast.

Thanks for posting.

Looks like they had so much open space to work with before fitting the metal panels. That 98 header panel looks like it's going in without the fenders or inner liners. From what I can see in the pics, they appear to have the pre-assembled components arriving 'just in time' like the current factory production. Only thing that's changed is the amount of human vs robot workers??

Where did you dig these up? They're awesome.

Cool!

I think I see my car there .

I'm amazed that the employees are wearing street clothes - I thought they wore uniform shirts and pants.

I was thinking the same thing, if it were later in the year 1973.

to mdchanic, My dad worked for Olds in Lansing he wore his own clothes! Some wore
the uniforms but 95% wore street clothes! gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection
were the most common items used by hourly workers.

Going by the Custom Cruisers I'm thinking this is probably Kansas City/Fairfax assembly. Neat pics!
