Connect your fuel sensor wire to ground with the key on and see where the needle goes. It should go to full. I would bet its not the gauge.

When you say not working correctly, does the needle move? What is it doing or not doing? I agree, I've seen more problems from a bad ground or sending unit than a bad gauge. But if it is the gauge I may have an extra one. I know I've got one from a 1968 if that is the same as 1969. The Cutlass shared the same from 1968-69 but don't know about the full sized cars. John

it shows how much is in it so it works, but it also goes from left to tight now and than.
From deadpoint to exeed full point?

not constant, thought i repaired it with cleaning the back of the feulgauge.

and i tried it with the contact key on, and saw that if i mounted it back i must press more on one side to have te feul gauge work propperly.

So if one of you guy's have one, than i can try if this solve the problem.

I cleaned all the ground kabels form tank till dash, and hoping that it is not the back printplate.
I gonna trie your advice to ground the sensor kabel,

i shall make a picture of it.

our wetherguy promised nice sunny wether, so il take her out for a spin today.
