It looks like it goes under the side pieces, so I have to believe that at least one of the side pieces has to be removed first to get the bottom piece installed. Then you put the side piece on. Don't know how the side piece is retained to the body, but start by trying to release all the windshield clips, and see if it comes loose. On some GM cars of that era, I have seen where they used a clip that had a stud on it, that held the molding in place with a nut on the inside of the car on the stud. If that is the case, you might have to disassemble some of the coverings on the inside at the side of the rear window. If it has a stud, make sure to reseal it when you reinstall the side molding, so you don't have any water leaks.

No bolts on the back of these. I think they snap in but there is a trick to it. Can't figure it out.

I didn't know how to do this either . Until i got one of these ;

It covers both body and chassis , and it's a "must have " if you own one of these cars .

Mine has the bolts through the bodywork, but these look familiar to something I had on my 59, somewhere, can't remember exactly.

Maybe slide strip along or place over over the two 'tyne' fingers, then when in position snap bottom with a firm push down. Should snap into place.

trying that but they are not snapping. My mechanic thought there might be a special tool for this.

I have a scan from the book for you.

You will have to flip it I could not scan it the other way because of the spine of the book and the scanner lid.

There are a few different styles specified, not sure which is your though.

Hope this helps.

Out of curiosity, what is the style of your Olds?

"11", "19" or "37"?

Bottom left of page point 3.

Mentions 'pry disengage prongs' installation reverse removal.

I'd try starting from the side and sliding chrome strip along bottom of window collecting each clip.

As I read this I think these are the inside moldings. I am looking to replace the outside (lower) molding. Thanks for the effort

They speak of roof drip scalp mouldings and reveal mouldings which are external.
