1967 Delmont w/open differential
1967 Delmont w/open differential
My '67 Delmont has an open "O" type differential and when I was checking the tag for info the only tag on the rear (bolted to the differential cover) said "Use limited slip lube only". Is this normal for an open rear to have this tag? Someone may have switched the carriers because it is definitely not a posi (if you turn one wheel when the car is in park the other wheel turns in the opposite direction).
Just curious.
Thanks,
Chris

posi non posi
YOU want it to be posi...lol . Worth more money.
Your going to have to open the diff up and take some pictures Probably needs a fluid change anyway.
If you see a S spring you have a posi nbut it might be worn out. We can rebuilt / recondition it if you need. Jim

Jim,
Oh, I do want it to be a posi but when I saw the other tire turn in the opposite direction I figured it was an open rear. There is also new looking fluid in the rear.
I will open it and take a look and hope like heck that it is a malfunctioning posi.
Thanks for the info!
