Was this cover used to add strength to the rear end? I like it but want something to strengthen my BOP 10 bolt.

 

It's more to keep it cool than anthing.

 

as already mentioned mostly for heat dissipation, also the document they gave to the sales folks said it made it look like a "quick change" rear end. The complete W-27 set up also saved 20 pounds I believe.

 

That is for the complete centersection being aluminum, isn't it? I'm just talking about the cover. I was hoping it did a little more than heat dissipation.

Nop, that is all it does Advertise w-27 and cool the gear fluid a little...sorry no bearing cap support like the T/A cover.

I can get you the T/A cover if you like for 149.00 brand new. Just PM me.

The T/A aluminum support covers have a fill plug, drain plug and the left and right anchor support bolts that will help keep the rear diff bearing caps from deflection upon high torque loads .

 

They hold a little more fluid & dissipate heat better,but it does give the slower car something to look at.
