Proper U joint U-bolt

Hopefully, it's a simple issue and I don't have the wrong combination of parts.
I have a BOP rear (3.55 gears) from a GTO in my 70 cutlass convertible.
I got TH400 and a driveshaft from a 442.
From what I have been reading I have about 1-inch play in driveshaft length which should be correct.
I had the driveshaft balanced and it has s44 u-joint.
I tried the U-bolt I had and it's not wide enough 1 1/16.
After investigating the BOP rear needs 1 1/8.
So I picked up a MOOG 534-10 which is 1 1/8.
I would think they should just slide in with no effort.
I can get them in but it's gonna take more than a simple tap to get them in.

So two main questions.
1. Do I have the proper components.
2. Is the BOP rear yoke different in size than a TYPE O that would require different joints or change the driveshaft length required.

It looks to me that your rear end yoke saddle is worn and deformed.

If you're referring to the gap between the cap and saddle in the pic I have the joint tilted right now so the driveshaft doesn't slip out.
The gap fills once the driveshaft is moved back a little.

The u-joint you have is incorrect for the yoke on that rear axle. Sounds like you need a conversion u-joint that has different size caps, 1 1/8 for the driveshaft and 1 1/16 for the yoke.

After talking with my driveshaft guy, he confirmed the Moog 534-10 (Dana spicer 2-94-58x )1 1/8 U-bolt is correct for my setup.
Dana spicer S44 u-joint
The problem was I was trying to install it without the ability to turn the driveshaft.
I jacked up the rear and removed my rolling legs and once I loosened the bolt and reset the u-joint while turning the driveshaft, the caps seated properly and the bolt went right in.
