Moser will make custom shafts to fit Type O axles.

I have Moser axle shafts in my Type O and they fit and function perfectly.

Axles

We used Yukon gear and axle brand for aLL OUR REAR REBUILDS 1541h ALLOY we have not had any issues...
I sent a PM with prices?

Oh Also you should check to be sure you have 1970 axles ... the 67 68 69 (sealed bearings) are different than the 1970 which are oiled bearings .

We only use Moser if there is going to be some serious racing going on.

I believe, with the aftermarket Type O posi, 71 and up axles can be used, is this correct?

No, the angle of the splines is different so the shaft will not insert into the differential side gears. Tried that back in the 80s and learned my lesson.

edit: I see that you said aftermarket posi. I do nont know about that, my experience was with a factory posi and factory axle shafts.

It is possible as FORD 8.8 units are used for this application and they are 28 spline and believed to be closet to the 45 degree same angle spline as the 71 72 axles. I will check for you. Jim

Do you have Chevy 12 bolt gears installed in your Type O? Just going by your signature. I know the Vista has bigger bearings, Brian Trick uses them for the ultimate Type O rear end builds. Monzaz, I am pretty sure Brian Trick said the 71-72 axle will fit with the 8.8 Ford posi.
