The "standard" ratio for Hydra-Matic was 2.87 . However there were a lot of options available , including different ratios for A/C cars .
The picture at the bottom left shows where to find the axle codes and their meaning .

Just curious because I am installing a Fabcraft posi unit and when I removed the differential I noticed it was a 2:87 ratio. Nice hiway gears wich works for me.

Hey KQQLCAT i was interested in the same thing. Any tips or tricks with the 9.3? Did you buy the book? I've assembled 12 bolt Chevy's and Dana 60's before haven't ever done a drop out style probably a little easier to work on.
No tricks pretty much straight forward, removed driveshaft, axles, and removed pumpkin and cleaned out the housing. Now I installed new axle bearings, seals and bought new bearings for carrier. I am having a friend put the posi in and set up because I want someone who does this regularly. I did get the book it has lots of useful information in there.
Fabcraft are great people.
