They are getting hard to find as there wasn't all that many turbo 400 to corporate 10 bolt cars built in 71-72. (Not nearly as many as turbo 350 cars that is.) I got lucky and found one. It should measure 53 1/4 from center of u-joint to center of u-joint. You will also need a yolk (31 spline?) for the 400. Mine is being shipped as we speak, so I am not sure about the length of the yolk. Other option is to have your's shortened or purchase a new one.
Hope this helps.

They are even harder to find than you think, since there were NO long-tail TH400 A-body cars ever built. As I said before, this needs a custom driveshaft.

Joe is right. That is why I added that mine is a short tail. You could also swap tailshafts however, the driveshaft is still a tough one. I looked for 2 months!

I probably won't get a reply but how long was the driveshaft when you got it measured?

I parted an abortion car 2 years ago.It was a 72 442 with a 455 & a long-tail TH400,from a Delta.I have the shaft from that.Not the way I would do it though.The long tail makes a tight fit under the A-body floorpan,and that's if you can get the driveline angle correct,so you don't have any vibrations.
