Will a 67 rear end fit in a 69 Cutlass?

Does anyone know if the rear end width for a 67 Cutlass is the same as a 69 Cutlass? Will it bolt in the same?

It will bolt up just fine. I believe it's the same width but am not positive. The 1964-66 are about an inch narrower and I think the change was between 1966 and 1967. I'm pretty sure all the 1967's were the type O just like in 1969. Someone else will speak up and verify or correct me if I'm wrong on this. John

I think you're correct, John.
Easiest way to tell, is to measure backing plate to backing plate.
The 68-72 are 55"
And the 64-66 are like 53.5"

I have never had a 67 rear here so am not completely sure.

66 can have a wide or narrow rear in an Olds. Its not like Chevelle. On my 66 I know for a fact is original and its the exact size as the 72 8.5 rear I used.

The parts book shows the same part number for the Type O axle housing for both 1967 and 68.
