What's it worth?

I'm looking for a spare rearend for my 67. I'm looking to put together a 'turnpike cruiser' (2.41:1) rearend for road trips Not really interested in a posi. just real high gears. What should I pay for a 10 bolt? Sorry, I'm an old ford guy, and all this GM stuff is new to me. Is this a good deal? I should be able to talk him down. Looks like he has posted it for a while.

P.S. Also coming from a 67 Chevelle should make it a direct bolt in? correct? what other years of A bodies use the same housing?

Anyone? Looks like this carrier may not do what I need anyhow.?. I don't think the drop from my current 3.23's to a 3.08 will be enough of a drop for me to spend the time on a swapout.

The 66-72 Cutlass/442 have the same width rear as the 68-72 Chevelle. The 64-65 Cutlass/442 have the same width rear as the 64-67 Chevelle.

Buick & Pontiac followed suit with Oldsmobile,so the 66-72 Skylark/GS,and 66-72 Lemans/GTO have the same width rear as the 66-72 Cutlass/442.
Anything with highway gears & no posi can be had for cheap,$100.00 or less.If you get a rear from a Chevelle,it will likely have the 1310 u-joint yoke,so you would need a different u-joint to make it work.

So 507, the 12 bolt Chevy posi rear i've got under a 71 el camino will go under my 67 Cutlass with no major problems? Right width too?

Also, bought a 12 bolt Type O for $200. Its open with 2.56's. Worth it or not in your opinion?

Yes,a 68-72 12-bolt Chevy rear is the same width as a 67 Cutlass/442 rear, and will install without issue. You will only need the adapter u-joint,if the 12-bolt Chevy rear has the 1310 yoke,as most of the common ones do.

Thanks for the offer jensenracing77. but I'm in Denver. I found one in a Grand Prix for $70 but it has 2.93. I'm really looking for 2.73 or higher. So I'll keep looking. Thanks again.

I think other then the Yoke difference you'll find Olds Axles bolt in and the others use "C" clips in the Diff.
