TH 400 shims
When I removed my trans. there were no shims on the mount. The shop manual shows shims to be used on the TH400 only. Do I need those shims?

You didn't specify year and model, but I've never seen shims used on the trans mount of any TH400 I've pulled out.

If it didn't have them than it doesn't need them. If you add them it would throw your pinion angle off. Causing the car to have a vibration.
