o axle?

o axle?

i have a 70 type o axle do you think its posi or not it leaves two tire marks but not all the time

Surest way to tell is to chock the front wheels, raise the rear of the car, release the e-brake, put shifter in neutral, and rotate one rear tire by hand. If the opposite tire turns opposite direction, then it is NOT a posi.

Actually, the surest way is to remove the diff cover and look at the carrier. A limited slip with worn clutches can act the way you describe. Of course, there should be a metal tag under one of the cover bolts if the axle is limited slip, but these can break off or be left off if the cover was ever removed.
