I pulled a differential from a 77 Nova to put in my 53 Olds I am building. The diff is a 8.5" with a with 2.56 open (TAC 72 16 1). It has 28 spline axles. Can I put a 30 spline posi unit, with 30 spline axles, in this diff? Can you help with suggestions regarding suppliers for posi unit, axles, and gears. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can swap the carrier with matching axles. Moser is a good source for axles.
