Have a 78 cutlass. Car has 229 peg leg rear.. I wanna change it out but can't afford $1k + on all new stuff.. So scouring the web for something.. Not having much luck finding something out of a g body in a reasonable distance and at a reasonable price.. So looking at other options..

I found a Camaro Z28 rear that was in an LT1 6spd car.. Has disc brakes also..

I know the housing is useless.. But Should have the same 7.5 26 spline gearset as in the g-bodies, correct?

Can I use the disc brake setup off of it too?

What other cars can I look for to find a 7.5 posi 3.73 gears in?

Contemplating this and just put in a new carrier..

It's been on craigslist for a while. He just came down in price from $300.. I should be able to grab it for $200... Although part of me still thinks that's too high.. But I have been out of the game for about 5yrs and still coming to terms with how much pricing has gone up on everything.. lol

I just really need to get away from this 229 gear.. They put it in there for mileage I'm sure, but I honestly think it hurts my mileage b/c the engine has to work harder to get going.. Car only gets 13-15mpg as it is on the highway with a stock 305..

oh, and P.S. I have a 200-4r waiting to go in.. that's why I was looking for a 3.73..
