help,,,runout bolt,,,prop shaft position
I replaced the differential seal on my car,,,I got it all done and drive shaft back in and i was reading my shop manual and it stated before bolting prop flange to differential flange check for run out bolt,If it has a runout bolt instal prop flange straddling the runout bolt,,if no runout bolt is present install prop shaft in any position,,After getting under my car i seen mine does have a runout bolt,,,What does straddling the runout bolt mean...How do i know if it is in the righ position..,

Run out bolt
It just mean do not install the companion flange in a position that the run out bolt will be in the way. Kind of idiot info as the run out bolt would NEVER let the flange bolt flush. Jim
Get me a picture and I will try to modify the pic to show you. Jim
