Decode rear axle

Beats me.
I did a search and that is the only thing I could find but who knows.

Maybe with a pic the year could be narrowed down?
The only thing I honestly know about rear ends is that there is open and posi type and you put the tires on them.

I'm fairly certain it's a 3:08 per leg but it came out of a 69 442 via a junk yard
I would take some pics but I' tired of hauling these two hunks of iron around all mawn'in They don' t seem to want to cooperate with my efforts to figger out what in the wild wild world of sports they are.
I think I'll go measure my battry with a wooden ruler

Maybe it's some exotic Oldsmobile Skunk Works deal.
Maybe you dismemembered and it was a '79 442???
Wooden ruler?
Oh yeah, you don't want to get have a light show measuring across those terminals with a steel yardstick.
Do that just once and they'll call you "Sparky" forever.
