Best / Easiest Way to Change Carrier Bearings

What is the best and or easiest way to remove the old carrier bearings and install new ones. 66 10 bolt 8.2". I don't have access to a press unless I visit a pro.

Have them pressed off and on you don't want to damage the carrier.

cutting wheel takes the cage off, the bearings spill out.

cutitng wheel cuts as deep a groove as you can into the bearing race without cutting the carrier case.

a fat chisel in the groove and a hammer will split/crack the race and it can be pried off.

for installation you can use the old race and a flat piece of stock to hammer the new bearing on.

OR freeze the carrier and heat the new bearing so it will slip on.

I dont recommend any of this but it has worked for me in a pinch.

Best way obviously is the right way...bearing separators and a press.

New bearings pressed Monday morning. Had to plastic hammer the carrier back in to the saddle. Backlash @ 008, pattern looks much better. Thanks for the advice!
