71 Vista cruiser O type rear cone washers

Cracked open the rear end cover today, and drained out all the oil. Everything looked good, oil was clean, no water.

When I drained the oil out of the pan however, I found a cone shaped washer, about .030 thick and stainless steel. I believe this part goes between the spider gears and the case of the inner case.

Any idea were to get these? both are now missing from the spider gears.
While I have it apart figure I will replace all the outer axle bearings and seals. What bearing set, and outer seals do I need for the wagon axles.

No idea, but it looks like it was ripped out.

The opposite side spider gear is missing also, from what I see, the only time these gears turn on a rear end is when you go around a corner?

I have plenty of those thrust washers.
The axle bearings for the 70-72 Vista is SET10.
The regular flat top wagons had the SET9.

Ok another question about the bearing races? One side is tight in the tube, the other I can pull out until it is flush with the tube then it stops. Is this a problem? or can I reinstall them with aviation gasket material and it be ok, or something similar?

That's an 8.5" 10-bolt. A picture of the end of the tube,or shock mount area, will determine if it takes the SET9 or SET10 axle bearings. Looks like someone welded the tubes the the pumpkin.

I will get a picture, but wont get to post until Friday. Yes it looked to me like they had welded the hell out of it, at one time.

Yes,that is the Vista style end, which takes the SET10 bearings. They offset the shock mounts inboard,to make additional room for the wider 2.5" brake shoes, and special offset backing plates. This kept the overall track width the same as the cars.
