1964 Cutlass Ignition question
1964 Cutlass Ignition question
I replaced the lock cylinder in the ignition switch today but cannot get the "accent" piece to stay in place when I try to tighten down the bezel nut. Am I doing something wrong? I must be missing something very simple here....
Anyone have any hints?

Yep
I am continuing to look at the manuals. Havent had any luck yet. The funny thing is that there is seemingly nothing for it to grab onto when I tighten down the bezel nut. Strange indeed.
Are you sure that all the parts you used are for a mid-sized car and not a full-sized car?
I'm no expert on that era, but I believe the mid-sized cars had that "extra" piece, but the full-sized cars did not.

Hello Eric,
The only part I replaced was the lock cylinder. The switch, bezel nut, and key surround are all original to the car. It all fell apart in my hand while my head was under the dash. I wasnt smart enough to take it apart slow enough to take notes.
