How to determine build date of a 1970 Cutlass?

Is there a reference with month ending VIN numbers? How else do you determine build date?

I need to determine the build date so I can purchase the correct dated carb.

Thanks,
Bob

^^^ What he said and more. If you post a pic or type out what info is on your cowl tag we can decode it for you.

Nope, just trying to collect the correct parts as opposed to the incorrect ones!

Thanks,
That'll work!

Good luck with that. Sometimes you can end up paying through the nose for those items. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to that. I'm not quite as fanatical about date coding though. As long as it's the proper carb number for the model year, I'll use it.

So, what are your plans for the vert? Any pics you can share with us?

I'm probably going to sell them and buy something done. Nope, no pictures yet. It's buried in the corner of the garage. I need to dig it out, BARN FIND!

I currently have a 7041250 and a 7042250 + intake, looking to trade for a 7040250 and intake. The Rallye has a Performer and Holley on it and thought I would like to find the correct stuff.

7042250 is for 72 350 or 455
7041250 is for 71 350's
Got this info from "The carburetor Doctor"s website. Not sure what the difference is that makes the 71 correct only for the 350 though?

Good luck! Hope you can find someone to trade with.
