I wish I had somewhere to take it off the frame because i would. Everything under the bottom looks pretty good so its cool. The main reason I wish I could have taken the body off the frame is so i could have put a couple coats of this Chassis Saver (pretty much the same as POR-15)on every part of the frame. I cant do that so I'm going to clean & coat what I can.

I started getting all the old oil & grease off the frame & brushed some chassis saver on the spots where it was nice & clean

$60.00 ????

Hey, Your Very Lucky!!!! Thats a GREAT find especially under a C-note...
Take your time and do it right, One to drive while YOU fix up the other.
The G-Machines are a great ride and you could stuff allmost any GM V8/ tranny in them & GO. I had a 83 T-top Cutlass Calis back in 1989 and had ALOT of FUN in it.I miss it sometimes, I was the second owner of mine. The tranny went out in it & I had a buddy rebuild it 3times, he couldn't get it right. I finally traded it in on a NEW 1990 5.0 Lx stick w/ sunroof.
Sure the 5.0 was quicker, but the Calis w/ the T-tops were the BEST...
I put a set of 15x8 Hurst/Olds rims ( redstripe) on it and those made the car look BAD-ss...Good luck with your pair of T-top Cutlass(es)....Fred~

That is AWSOME! It is looking a million times better than when you began. What engine do you plan to put in it?

I was spoiled by my t-top so thats all I was searching for on craigslist but all I could find was hardtops. I never thought I would find another good t-top good body cheap to put all my stuff in but my buddy came through for me. Do you have any old pics of t-top you had? Thanks for checking this thread Fred!

Thanks! I'm not trying to build a show car or a race car. I just want something that looks nice with a little get up & go when i want it to. I think the blacked out frame is going to look real clean when I pop tho hood. I hate looking at the rust color & oil/dirt buildup thats under the one I'm driving now so thats what made me want to do it like this. This stuff is scratch & chip resistant so if it start to get dusty or dirty under the hood i can power wash it & not have to worry about it flaking off. As far as the engine, I'm going to put the engine & trans out of my other cutlass in there. It's a chevy 355/TH350. I kinda want to put an olds engine back in there but my money is funny right now so I'm going to go with what I got plus the one I'm fixing up has chevy mounts welded on.

Still painting part of the the frame & some other parts. I cant really get to the bottom so I'm going to wait until I rebuild the suspension to get all around/under the a arms & the bottom part of the frame.

Painted part of the core support & one of the fender wells. I don't know how good this stuff will stick to the plastic but I'm thinking it will hold up ok. I have to move the wires on the drivers side to paint that one then fix the hole in the heater box

I'm about to repair the hole in my heater box using fiberglass
IMG_0944.jpg

I put tape over the hole from the outside
IMG_0945.jpg

Inside shot of the hole. I took some sandpaper & scuffed it up real good in the inside of the box to give the fiberglass something to bite into.
IMG_0946.jpg

I brushed resin on the inside of the box & started laying the fiberglass
IMG_0947.jpg

After about 3 layers of fiberglass I let it sit for about 20 minutes to cure then pulled the tape off. it looks a little rough.
IMG_0948.jpg

Here I put a little body filler on & sanded it smooth
IMG_0952.jpg

Brushed the paint on and.....

Under hood wiring to the lights was all messed up on the new cutlass & the fusible links were missing on the wires to the starter so I'm taking all the wiring from under the hood of the old one & using it. I already had the wiper motor out so it was very easy to get to.

This is a nice upgrade for your car. I think the only mod is that you might have to grind a small slot in the upper pinch bolt. Also, you might have to heat it up some for it to slide together. Thanks for posting all of the pics.

Pulled the motor/trans out, chopped the t-top section off the other car up & stripped it for everything I could use then junked it. About to freshen the motor up a little bit & add a few things

After I dropped the engine in it was time for the exhaust. I'm B.O.B. & cant buy everything brand new so when I seen this on CL for a couple dollars I had to go ****** it up. It came off a 2+2 he was tearing apart so i knew it would fit my cutlass
