Aftermarket ac options
Aftermarket ac options
Im ready to re-install my dash, but would like to nail down what I am doing for heat and air first.
My 64 is a non ac car, and I live in the south so, I really want air.
I made a mock up of Vintage air's slim line under dash unit with defrost, and bought their mock up unit for the super unit. Both are way too big.
I called vintage air and asked what would fit, they said they have no idea at all.
I am looking at the Heritage under dash heating and cooling unit, and I think it will fit. I will make a cardboard mock up to test it..
I am curious if anyone has found a better solution that fits well.
I also wonder how well the under dash units work and am I going to regret not finding a way to have a defrost option...
Any guidance or experience here would be appreciated...

I went with Vintage Air.
But I really don't want to use that big under dash vent system so I'm still figuring that out.
I may use my speaker grill to hide a vent and then dump the rest downward below the dash.
I get the car back from paint soon and will finish the ducting then.

You might want to look at Old Air Products in Fort Worth. They have some pretty good stuff. Here is a link.

i called and talked to them today. I’m going to dig into the specs on their hurricane system and see if I can make it work. They told me which one they use for their Chevelle kit but I would have to use the basic controls as they don’t have a way to integrate the factory controls.
