I would love my seats to go back another inch or two. Even furthest back I'm a little cramped right now. Shopping on yearone.com I ran across these universal seat relocation brackets. Anyone use them before? Are they easy to install? Don't have to get underneath the car do I?

I bought a pair like that from a Chevy place in New York to move the seat up closer for my daughters. They do work. They mount from inside. Just unbolt seat(s) and bolt thee down. Both seat(s) to these

Seen the brackets that allow the driver's seat to move back further also on the other Oldsmobile restoration websites.

I purchased 2 pair and installed them on both front seats. They are easy to install. the only thing extra I ran into was I had to trim the carpet some to get them to sit flush against the floor. I purchased the type that inline tube manufactures and sells . the cost a little more but they are very well made.

Being 6'3" and a cheapskate , I used a piece of 1/4" bar stock and some nuts & bolts to give me a 2.5" setback. Cut and drilled the stock and used the original bolts to secure it to the floorpan and the new nuts & bolts to secure the seat "feet" to the bar stock. Kinda copied the Year One design if truth be told.

Same here, I made mine maybe 15 yrs ago. I don't think they were available then. My 71 Cutlass convertible really didn't have enough leg room. I also am 6'3". My wife is 5'2". She will put the seat all the way forward and I put it all the way back with the 2" extenders. I do have to put the seat up a couple notches if someone rides in the back because the front bench will be only 4" or so from the rear seat.

I know this post is from last May, but the Bible is timeless, and I'm amazed to find out that instructions on how to replace these seat mounting brackets can be found in there! Book? Chapter? Verse? Old Testament/New Testament? Sunday School has suddenly become a whole lot more interesting.

I never noticed before I installed the seat extender just how little legroom is in the back seat. Especially for such a big car. Oh well, will have to get shorter friends I guess.

I installed the brackets tonight. Wow. 2" doesn't sound like much, but it made a huge difference for my 6'5" frame. That was certainly money well spent.
