Ok. So to reasonably ask 13 my car should look close to that one. Seems reasonable. So maybe list mine for 11 and hope for 10?

You have to start somewhere. I'd still clean it up a little as I and others have suggested.

That's only an asking price, not a selling price. It's only a good comparison if it sells for his $12,900 price.

I don't see where you're getting this. Your car's interior does not look like that one. His is clean (from what we can see) where yours is torn and worn.

First you think it should sell for $12K because you see 442s selling for that much except your car is not a 442. Now you think it should sell for what they're asking for that other Cutlass because your interior looks like his interior even though your interior does not look like his interior.

If there were ever a case of looking at the world through rose-colored glasses, this is it.

Put your $12K asking price on it and then sit back and see if the phone rings. Then you'll know one way or the other.

Now I have to laugh.

Why would anyone be interested in your car at $12K when we can go buy that other Cutlass that's in better shape that Giftman23 posted the link for for the same money?

I saw this, and I see no asking price. Interesting. It's the first thing people are going to ask.

Put an asking price on there, the location may help find a local buyer on craigslist or somewhere close to you. There is only 1 car like yours, and you have it. You have to start somewhere and you can always reduce it.

Good luck!

If you want more reference ads to look at, here is a link to a bunch of 1969 Cutlasses/442s I've seen for sale in the past few months. Conditional varies.

That's an interesting link. It doesn't support your car being worth five figures.

For example, here's one that I would argue is in at least as good shape as yours, if not better, and the asking price is $7,500. Seems like the right price, and it suggests that yours is worth no more than that.

Here's another interesting comparison from that site. It's a '69 442 in a condition I would argue is very similar to yours. Very good exterior and engine with an interior that needs to be redone. Sounds just like your car.

His asking price is $12,500, which is what you say yours is worth. But his car is a 442, and yours is not.

So, again, I ask, why would someone pay $12,000 for your car when they could pay the same money and get a 442 in the same condition?

I do want to make a special note that I had some local viewers talk to the guy and everyone said he was a shady individual and the car is definitely MOT a W32.

That's very convenient. If we can't trust this particular ad, how can we trust any of them?

Doesn't change the argument, though. Regardless of whether or not this particular car actually IS a 442, it is priced correctly for a 442 in that condition.

I built the site in hopes of being a nice place for Oldsmobile information. In addition to anyone being able to post an add for free without registration, the site also pulls ad content from other sites as is. Like all other sites, I can't control who is honest with their information which is why I put the disclaimer section on every ad page created.

I understand. Fraudulent ads are everywhere. It's always buyer beware.

Well I posted it for $12,000. Might be high. I figure no matter where I start someone is going to want to get it cheaper. I probably don't absolutely have to sell it, but I think selling it may patch up some rough spots I have with my family right now.

Well, we don't like to hear this. Good luck with the sale.
