What cam will be better???
Hi again,
I want to put a comp cams k kit in my 71 Cutlass Supreme 350 Rocket
Its a stock 5,7 ltr v8 with edelbrock performer intake, Holley 600 4bl carb, Dynomax Headers and 2 1/2 dual exhaust, no air. con., 3.08 Rear end and a new rebuild TH350
Maybe i want to change my intake to the rpm, what do you mean..
Now i dont know which cam works better in my car.
Here are my Favorites:
Either the Hi Energy 268h http://store.summitracing.com/partde...4&autoview=sku
or the xtreme energy xe 262h
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...4&autoview=sku
Whats about the intake/exhaust lift numbers ??? should they be the same or can i get better response, if they differs...???
Here the example:
The Hi Energy has a duration at 0.50 from 218 in and 218 exh.
The Extrem Energy has dur. at 0.50 from 218 in and 224 exh.
Can you please explain me that, and help me for my choose..????
Thanks again

Both cams are good choices. I like the extreme energy series a bit better. Be sure to get Comp 159 additive for the oil. Break in at 2000-2500 rpm for 20 minutes, following Comp's directions that come with the cam. Try to get the distributor in right so it will start quickly. I also hook up the timing light so I can give it some reasonable amount of advance while running for the break in period. I finish setting the timing after break in, and change the oil and filter.
