Waking up my 77 Cutlass to sell.

Going to throw it in a car show this weekend to see if it sells. If not the couple dents are finally on the body shop calendar schedule.

Today was the following: With a couple questions please.

1 Wash wash and wash again. Not done in 15 years.
Washed under hood
2. All exterior bulbs pulled sockets cleaned and bulbs replaced if needed. Many needed.
3. Door and body drains opened and cleaned. So glad I have had this oiled over the years cause gallons came out.
4. Rear brake res was empty. Filled and pedal is back to what I consider normal but brake light still on. I am wondering if it is leaking into the booster because there is no brake fluid on the rear drums.
5. After trying to shampoo stains out of carpet from when the windshield seal leaked I am now running a dehumidifier and going to paint the stains temporarily and then replace carpet probably this winter.
6. Got the olds front emblem re attached. What a rediculous spring mech. Will have to source proper attachment later.
7. Got all the pine pitch off the paint..
8. Ran seafoam through engine twice. Filled up with 93.

Now for questions.

1. My blower motor never shuts off even when heater control is off. And it goes to low when on high. Where is the potentiometer for this? Is it supposed to run non stop?
2. Radio is dead. I checked fuses. It illuminates, just no sound at all. Going to start at speakers and work my way back tomorrow. Am I on the right track?
3. Under hood light. Bulb is good, I find a plug but nothing for it to plug into. Anyone have a pic or description of what I am looking for?
4. My trim pieces around the rear seat windows are in terrible shape. Any ideas?
5. It looks like the half soft top is going to need replacing but that is not happening by Sat. I had it replaced in 2001 with my repaint, and it is only outside in the summer.. It sure didn't last long for miles driven. I hate the idea of trashing it for good, but they are expensive.
6. Once brake light comes on, how do i turn it off?

Starting to look sharp again

Soft top and window trim

Plug for hood light. Cant find its mate.

Undecided to keep original or start freshening up.

Blower always on is the '77 version of 'Forced Air Induction'. That era of GM had the blower always on for fresh air in the vehicle.

'Blower always on' is a yes. Unless the key is off.

Problem number two solved. Brake light out. I tried stomping on the pedal hard a few times. Loud click and light went out. Woo hoo. Knocking them off the list.

If I were trying to sell it I would do some serious work on detailing that engine,

Yes. Going back and forth on that. Car is super original. Not a performer engine wise, just a nice cruiser.

Might do some engine bay freshening over the winter if it does not sell.

Look for the connector block for the underhood light at the firewall to the left (as you're facing the engine) of where the fender braces attach at the cowl.

The interior sail panel trims are very difficult to find in good condition; especially so with the courtesy pillar lights.

Repro exterior opera window trims are available at The Parts Place to help dress up the Landau top

I might have found it. It was on the drivers side completely burried. The plugs fit one another, but no hood light as of yet. There are not many fuses under the drivers side and they all are good. I am cleaning pins as I go through them,

Mine are in good shape. Same with hood light. Bulbs test good, but no light and no power.

Will take a look. Nothing will happen by sat, but I am hopeful someone likes the car and takes it home. It is a stupid original original car. I have the original spare and even the rediculous tin wipers that bent the first time the moved snow, and r12 recharge kits to go with it.

The parking lights need to be on for the hood light to work.

The engine does look better. I would try and find a new hose going to the air cleaner. If I couldn't find one I think I would take that one off. That thing looks bad.
