Valve covers
Just how rare and desirable are the valve covers with the raised letters,"OLDSMOBILE" stamped on them? A post on this site several months ago said they were very sought after. There is a pair on Ebay right now with a "Buy it now" price of $319.00. What years were these produced, and how much could they bring?

Valve Covers
I know I've found them on 1973 350's and 455's, not sure if they were used in 1974 or not. I haven't seen a set sell for a while, but last I saw $60-$75 for a decent driver quality set was market price. They may not be terribly common, but as said by others on this site rare doesn't always mean lots of dollars. In contrast the notched valve covers were used on big block Cutlass/442's from 1968-72 but there's much more demand for them than the raised letter covers. My 2 cents, John

John is correct.
73-74 motors will have them. As far as value, meh. Not worth much in my opinion. I have one for free if you want it, but it will have to be repaired.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. The 1973-74 motors came with stamped steel valve covers that had OLDSMOBILE in raised block letters. These were only available from the factory. Summit does not sell them. I see used sets for $25 regularly at swap meets.
