THM 350 Downshift Cable Leak

I installed a new (from Fusick) downshift cable to my THM 350 Transmission. Seemed pretty straight forward and it works fine, except for the 12 to 15 inch puddle of transmission fluid under where the new cable attaches to the transmission. The cable connects to a hooked end of a rod in the transmission and the cable pushes in and connects with one bolt. Is there supposed to be a seal or gasket?

I can't lose that amount of fluid every time I park the car. It looks like the previous owner had used some red silicone to seal the old cable. Any ideas?

There should be a small O-ring that
fits over the cable on the 'hook' end.
You should able to see the indention for it.

I saw an indent, but the cable from Fusick didn't include an o-ring, and the cable I removed had used a red silicone. Guess I will have to call them or see if I have a usable one in my parts bins.

You should be able to get one that works fine at any hardware store.

Make sure the o-ring is snug on the cable
and not to large for the hole it fits in.

Go to a Menard's Home Depot, they will have a huge assortment in various sizes and thicknesses in single packs. Buy few different sizes - they are cheap and find the one that works best.
