Speedometer Gear Change

I read the article in High Performance Pontiac recently and decided to fix the speedometer in my 72 Cutlass, since it is the same as the A body Pontiac, or any other body for that matter. I was only going 55 but the speedometer read 60. By buying a gear with 2 more teeth plus a new O ring and a new shaft seal, my speedometer now read acurately. Total cost: $22.00 delivered in 2 days Priority Mail. Takes about 10 minutes once you have the parts.

Only thing is, TCI was mentioned in the article to buy the parts, but they no longer sell them. But they referred me to Speedometer World at 888-877-1008.

My Bonneville is off too, and I'll fix it when I get it back on the road.
