scrapping a 70 post cutlass

I am taking what is left of a 70 cutlass 2 dr post car to the scrap yard so I can clean the yard up. if any one is looking for something let me know. there is not much left. it has all the glass except the right rear quarter window. both doors are there and could be repaired but they do have rust in the corners. I am located in NE Georgia about an hour from Atlanta. let me know if you need something before it gets crushed and turned into a new KIA.

If your pictures are located on a site like photobucket you just copy and paste the IMG Code from the picture into the body of your post.

If you have the pictures on your computer and just want to upload them to CO then just follow the images below.

step1.jpg

step2.jpg

Hit the upload button only after you have added all the photos (up to 5).

Ok if this works here are a couple of pictures of it. as you can see it is pretty bare but if there is something of use to someone thats better than it being melted down

In the past I've seen several requests for the aluminum trim that goes around the door glass. If your able to remove that without damaging it that might be a nice thing to set aside. Since the Post cars are less common than the hardtop anything specific to the post would be nice to save. Just some thoughts..... John

And the stainless steel wheelwell trim!
And door side trim... and the rear view mirror.
And the short piece of trim at the back/bottom of the back seat side window. Is that from a vinyl top?
Is the deck lid too rusty to save? OK, I know I'm a packrat but am equally sure these are items others will want if not today then in the not too distant future!!!

The firewall-mounted fiberglass AC box.....if it's not sun-faded and not cracked you should really pull it and save it. These aren't getting any easier to find in nice condition.

Does it have the textured plastic covers over the quarter glass posts on THE INSIDE of the car??

If the bottoms of the cowl area is in decent shape, I know Ryan(6inarow) SHOULD be interested in sections.....

I know their are a few parts that I could save but if I keep any thing else around here I am scared the guys from "American Pickers" are going to show up. the inner trim parts for the posts are gone. the A/C firewall box is broken on the engine side, the blower motor half is good if anyone needs it. the inside A/C box is there also. the only outside trim left is the two door body mouldings and the front rear drivers quarter moulding. they are look pretty good. the post exterior trim looks like someone tried to remove it with a hammer and chisel.

My bad. What i meant is the rear passenger side window fuzzies (body side). Also, on vent window, behind the door panel there is a spring for the vent window handle. Not the cone shape. Its a long spring that goes on the vent window handle shaft.

I need the LH side headliner metal piece that the seat belt holders go on.. It's a long piece that runs all the way to the back..
Also.. I need for the 2 rear windows.. The upper channel track..
It's held by 2 bolts at the rear..
No matter what condition they are in..

interior was green but other than a couple of trim parts most is gone or destroyed. window fuzzies are gone in the rear. I have to pull the door loose to get to the vent window so it may be next weekend as we are expecting rain.

W-31, is this the window piece you are looking for? I still have to get the other out if so. as for the part to hold the seat belt what are you looking for? the two clips that hold the belt to the headliner for storage are screwed into the roof structure.

Yes that's exactly what i need

as for the other part, the 2 seat belt clips, if you look closely are not bolted to the structure of the roof.. they are bolted onto a piece of metal that is bolted onto the roof structure..
I need that peice.. it runs from the A pillar all the way back to the qtr. glass.
It's held by phillips screws to the roof structure.. i need the driver's side only.

Do you have the stainless that goes around the post and upper 1/4 glass on the left side? It is in the picture. If yes is it in good shape?

W-31, are these all the parts you need?
bkeese, if you are talking about the wide anodized aluminum trim that goes around the door post and and rear post, they are pretty rough but I will take a look tomorrow.

That sounds like what I need. My top piece got folded back and is creased. I would like to find something decent.
Thanks,
Bob

Yes, you got it
And i also see that you have the windlace on.. If you have the windlace that goes around the rear window that would be great too..

dont have the windlace for the rear window, or if I do it is buried under all the scrap metal piled in the car.
Bob, here are pics of the top rear quarter window trim. the upright piece is gone, this is the only part I have. it is far from perfect, there are a couple of dings in it and the tabs for the channel screws to go through are broken as you can see. if you want to pay postage I would be happy to send it you you if you think it will work.
thanks guys
steve
