Rear Axle Bearing Noise

I am starting to hear a noise from the left rear of my 72 Cutlass that I suspect is the axle bearing, and I want to pull the axle to check the bearing. I have a standard non posi rear end that I did remove the cover and replaced the oil last year. Do my axles pull out after removing the bolts on the flange, like they do on a Pontiac I have? There are no C clips on the Pontiac. I have removed them by flipping the drum over, put a couple nuts on loosely and tapping it out with the drum. Same procedure for my Olds?

If you remove the bolts they should slide right out. I don't believe yours has a clip.
