Questions about 71-72 A body trim pcs

I have seen so many variations of different trim and cannot figure some things out.
thanks in advance for any info

1)What determined if a car recieved the wood grain trim on the dash?
2)What determined if the car recieved the chrome bead that runs the length of the sides and top of the dash?

My 71 dash is without wood except for the gauge surround. My 72 is the same.

I was going to add the chrome bead until I realized there are clips that hold it and those clips puncture holes in the dash.My dash looks like it never had any holes punctured.

3)What determined if the car recieved the chrome rocker cover mouldings?
My 72 S has them my 71 S does not. Both cars have chrome wheel well mouldings.

4)What is the correct stone shield emblem for each year?
I have seen both 71 and 72 with an "S" emblem.I have seen both years with the rocket emblem.
My 71 came with a "S",my 72 came with the rocket. Some parts house catalogs suggest just the opposite.

thanks

The bead trim along the top of the dash is standard on the 70-72 Cutlass, they were glued on in 1970, and switched to the clips sometime during the '71 model year.

My '71 assembly manual denotes the chrome bead trim and instrument panel woodgrain as standard on the 42-44-4800, Cutlass Supreme, 442 and Vista Cruiser.
The '72 models/equipment list shows the same, woodgrain is an option on the Cutlass and Cutlass S.
I think you get the chrome beading when you get the woodgrain because it just says "Instrument Panel Trim-Woodgrain Vinyl" for the option?

Isn't the Cutlass-S the only model with the S emblem on the stone shield?
The '71 showroom brochure shows the S on the S, the rest of the models have rockets, maybe '72 is different.
