I was contacted by someone needing a rear bumper for their 1964 Cutlass Wagon. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking I read somewhere that the rear bumper on the wagon for that year was the same as used on the 2 and 4 door cars. Can anybody help verify or correct my memory?

Olds parts book shows different part numbers for rear bumper between station wagon and regular F-85 (Cutlass).
I don't know what the difference was , but there had to be some difference for Olds to offer a different part number for station wagon only.

John they are the same only diffrence is the fuel filler neck location, on the wagon the bumper isn't cut for the filler neck, but on the f85 line it's cut out for the fuel filler

 

Thank you for the replies. So it sounds like they're different, but if he can't find a wagon bumper and can live with the gas neck dip the 2 or 4 door car one will bolt up.

The corners of the wagon bumper have a wider v on them. The bumper fillers are different too. Years ago, I was sold an NOS wagon bumper for my car!

 

Any chance you still have that NOS wagon bumper?

 

John don't you have a wagon, maybe take a few measurements of the V part of the bumper this is the first I have heard it was different.

 

Justin, its hard to measure but here's some pictures. Yes, there does seem to be a slight difference, but I'm not sure if its intended or just the variation between bumpers. The first two are from 2 door hardtops, the third one is on a wagon. John

I actually made bumper fillers and installed the wagon bumper on my car. I was never happy with the results. I had to cut the opening for the gas filler too. My original bumper was very bent up so I settled. I sold the car in 1998. It was a loaded Cutlass Holiday coupe from Pasadena CA. I wish I still had it!!
