Very nice, congrats on the new ride. I just bought one myself and had to wait about the same amount of time. Couldn't wait for it to get here.

Thanks guys and gal

For those of you that know the story it has been a rough 6 months since mine was totaled and now waiting 3 weeks is not too big of deal and give me time to finish the bathroom remodel. I must say that the drive was pretty nice and brought back those good feelings. Now when she gets home all the little details begin

Thank you gearhead....

Now I just need to get her home and handle the details and make her mine so to speak. The interior is new but I want to convert to white interior. I think with the whote top and stripes the white interior should pop real nice in white. Also want to convert to oem power windows, tilt wheel and power seat. Basicaly I want to add every option that was available in 72 including 8 track power trunk and all that good stuff. the hard one will be tracking down the cruise setup but that wont be on the agenda for some time

It's a real beauty. It doesn't get much better than that! I think the black upholstry looks just fine, especially if new...that white stripe sure make the car pop.

Where you work is about 3 miles from my place. I work from home. When you drive it up on sunny day let me know and I'll meet you for lunch some where close and we can look at each others cars.

My wife and I sometimes take our 57 to Burger Master but to my knowledge no cruise nights are happening there. In the summer there is a larger cruise in at the Taco Time in Lynnwood starts at about 5:00 and runs until 7-8:00 pm 25-50 cars show up. There is another at Clearview on hiway 9 at the McDonalds on Saturday nights about the same time of night it is smaller 15-20 cars. Great people at both places.

Citcapp, Do you ever go to the XXX drive in over in Isaquah? Keep me posted on the cruise nights and I will be there and I will let you know when I bring the olds up to Bothell. After it is delivered the first dry day I will more than likley drive it to the office.

Leadfoot, No he is not a car guy and not Rick. Do you know of any other local cruises?

Haven't been to the XXX. I haven't been there for the cruise ins but have been there for the burgers. I have heard it is very crowded and hard to get to when they have there cruise nights. I will have to hit it next summer. I'll keep you posted on the local stuff

Very nice. '72 was a good year for a lot of things. Those wheels are probably about the best after market that look decent on Oldsmobiles of this era. Are you the one whose original ride was wasted by a drunk driver? Congrats on the new ride. Chumley

Chumley, Yes that was me that was hit by the drunk and this is the new 72 to replace my old 72

Leadfoot, I will look into the frontier park. I have been down there for a few shows so I will come on down there. this spring and summer I want to make up for missing out this year. Thanks guys for all the support and I will still have work to do to this one as well so I will keep everyone informed of work to do and the progression

So when I dropped the car off to get shipped I pulled out a stack of stuff from the glove box and fount the following:

Build sheet
Window Sticker
Looks like data/broad cast sheets
Letter from GM
Original contract
payoff letter
Protecto plate
Warrenty info and records
Registration from what appears to be every single year
Oldsmobile service records
Warrenty manual
owners manual

I am sure I missed somthing but it was nice to find lots of documentation

A man after my own heart! I'm doing exactly what you are. But, I've got the cruise and its NOS. Also got most of the power options too, but some need restoring before installation. Most stuff just waiting to go on so the car only has to come undone once. Congrats on your new ride. It's always hard to replace the one that got clobbered. There's a lot of sentiment that goes with car ownership, even if it's not always said.

Wow nice ride. if someone told me how cool it looks black with white top and stripe, not so sure I'd have believed them. It works !
Hope to see it in person some day, I'm in Puyallup.

ps, the trick for XXX is to show up early get your parking spot, and eat early to beat the crowds.

Nice! Well, luvr, it looks like "alls well that ends well" for you. I remember how upsetting it was to lose your other car, but it looks like you've done quite well!
I especially like the documentation! If you don't mind, I'd like to get a look at it (email would be fine....wmachine@shubes.net)
That car pops!

Kurt,
I am also interested in the documentation. Saw one on ebay with all the docs and asked the seller if he would share what the build sheet looks like. He said no because it sounds unethical and illegal. So I didn't pursue the issue. I've never seen one for my car. Is it unethical to recreate build sheet information for a specific car if I claim it is only for display purpose only and is NOT an original document? I do have broadcast sheet for my car. I do not want to open a can of worms here. This is not the same, IMO as changing a VIN, Cowl tag, or body. I would value your opinion. If this borders hijacking a thread, PM me with the answer ok?

Great Ride! I'm down in the Portland Oregon / Vancouver Washington area. Let me know if you ever make it down this way or decide to take it to the Long Beach Cruise in. It'd be cool to see that thing in person! I dig the black and the convert!

This was the blue one right? Did it sell? I kinda lost interest in it when I got the somewhat rude reply.
