Somewhere along the way a previous owner of my car decided to repaint the engine, and he painted almost everything gold. The oil fill cap is grey, but looks like it was repainted. Does anyone know for sure what color it was originally? It's a 1966 f-85 deluxe with the low compression, 2bbl 330 V-8.

Originally the cap was black. My fill pipe and my cap are black.
