Newby- Converted chevy guy!

Hello everyone, Does anyone know if a complete AC system from a 69 Cutlass will fit and work in a 72? Mine was gutted when I bought the car.
Thanks for any help.

Yes. The only difference is the control unit on the dash. The 68-69 units are different from the 70-72 units (though they function the same).

If you are going to buy the AC system out of a parts car make sure you buy new hoses and seals and a rebuilt or new compressor before you put it in your project car.

And the warranty on that new compressor will be void if you don't also replace the drier and orifice tube.

Thanks for your help! Yes, I would have everything rebuilt before installing. I am sure I will have many more questions in the future as my car is in pieces! I installed new quarters, stripped the door jambs, roof, trunk lid all to bare metal, did any body work as needed, and epoxy primed all the surfaces. Now I am working on the doors, and working my way forward.
Thanks again
