New, and my first question

I'm new here, like the title says. I recently purchased a 1978 Cutlass Supreme. I love it.

More to my question.

My interior is all black, and it has bucket seats and a center console.

The driver seat is pretty rough, but I can't seam to find what kind of seats they are. Every other Cutlass I've seen has a bench seat. The seats have no mods done to the brackets, and no mods were done to the floor board.

What seats will fit as a direct bolt in?

FYI
Some of the stock seat options were " split 60/40".

Bucket seats from any 1978-87 GM A, B, or G body will bolt right in. Includes Cutlasses, Regals, Grand Prix and Malibu, as well as Delta 88 and Bonneville/Catalina.

Why not just recover the seat you have?

Yes, but please read my post, it says that it has a full center console. It does not have a split bench.

I have no days off for a few, but I will get some pictures up as soon as possible

I can't seen to find a cover, because I really don't know what the seats came from. I do know they look like most of the older style GM seats.

No head rest, hard resin back place, black vinyl with a sort of diamond stitch, and little buttons haha

Welcome Jerd, they do sound like GM seats for sure. When you get the pictures posted I am sure someone will recognize them and help out.

I hope, getting them wrapped wouldn't be a problem if I knew what they are out of haha

You could get bucket seats in the 78 cutlass. Are you sure they are not factory? Posting pics might help clear the air as to what they are.

Assuming the seats are original, I think you should try to have the driver's side seat recovered. Hopefully there is enough material left on it that a good automotive upholsterer can replicate the original pattern. If not, then maybe he can go by the passenger seat.

The driver seat is the same as the passenger, but for some odd reason, they are slightly different. I think the passenger seat may have been re-done, or maybe the driver seat was swapped out at some point

I got some pictures, the best ones I could get, considering the rain, but I will have them up when I get off from work

I'm not 100% sure, but I think those are pontiac. They look similar to the ones that would have been factory for that car, but the stitching would have matched the back seat if they were olds seats. I don't believe they are making repop covers for these yet, so would recommend finding a good trim shop to have them recovered, and request the stitching match the back seat. I don't imagine it should cost too much, may be a couple hundred?. Nice clean ride there. After looking again...those might actually be the correct seats. Does the backrest of the back seat match the fronts? I think my 79 cruiser was patterned like that. My memory is foggy though... the car got wrecked like 15 years ago.

Haha the stitching and all matches, but for some odd reason the driver seat is slightly different. The seats are almost identical, but it seems like the vinyl/leather is a tad different between the front seats.

The back seat is also just a hair different

You could always get generic covers from Kanter or automotive interiors. I have never used them but I know Kanter has EXCELLENT customer service.

I see that now... it almost looks like the drivers seat was redone at some point in the past, or something already. Have you checked out the gforce pages? I think that's the name. I found it trolling for olds sites a couple years ago, but don't have a g body cutlass and didn't hang around. They may know of an aftermarket supplier who covers those things. You could try hunting them down, and checking it out.
