my 72

Guys thanks for the recent help. Here are some photos of my 72 I bought back in December. I found it in San Diego and had it shipped to St. Louis. The rims are what were on it when I bought it. They do not help the ride at all. I do have SSII rims but they need blasted and painted. Have not got to those yet. I had to get the horn, fuel gauge, and top working. All those projects are complete. I get a lot of stares and compliments on it.

Nice, but I have to agree. I would trade those wheels for some Coddingtons Smoothie IIs if you have to have chrome. Much better looking. Maybe go a little smaller with 18"s or if you're into the pro tour look you could do 20"s in the back and 18"s in the front.

I hate it when guys wreck the looks of a nice classic with those 18" monstrosities. There are a lot of better alternatives, although I think the SSII's look the best. Nice ride! Chumley

Those are at least 20" on that car. Not all 18's are monstrosities

As you can see, our community is really solid on keeping an Olds looking good. 21 and 22's?? Holy crap. On the + side you can probably get some good coin from them when they come off. When you paint the superstock 11's what color are you thinking about? If you don't mind my suggestion, I think that black would be a really good accent color for your ride; it would show off the trim rings, bezels and centers nicely. Raised white letter 235 60 15's? Red somehow would be just a little boring. Someone's done a lot of custom changes to the interior of this car, but it still looks nice.

BTW, just something to think about. If you're running with 21 and 22's, someone had to put in a different tranny speedo gear to keep your speed calibrated. You're going to have to change it back and maybe get it certified.

I was thinking about black, I am not sure how it would look. Thanks for the comments. When it comes to classic cars, I am a purest for the most part.
